Ben Guez was born in Leningrad in 1983 and at the age of nine moved to Chicago with his family. He graduated with a History degree from the University of Arizona and spent the subsequent years living in South America. After directing a couple of short documentary films and collaborating for four years with Pedro Gonzalez Rubio on his film “Antigone”, Ben’s first feature documentary “Quicksilver Chronicles” (co-directed with Sasha Kulak) premiered at Visions du Réel in 2019. It has screened at many festivals world- wide, winning prizes along the way and appearing on broadcast. In 2020 he moved to Barcelona to complete a master’s degree in Creative Documentary at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he still resides. Besides working as documentary cinematographer, he is currently restoring a small farmhouse in southern Catalunya and studying bicycle mechanics at Biciclot.
